Subscribe to our newsletter Alien: Earth and Fargo creator Noah Hawley is set to direct an English-language remake of the 2017 supernatural horror film Terrified.Per The Hollywood Reporter, Hawley is developing the pic with Demián Rugna, the writer-director of the original Spanish-language film.Terrified (Aterrados) follows a multi-linear narrative that concerns residents, paranormal researchers, and police in a small town that is suddenly plagued with violent, supernatural occurrences.Article continues below The original film is pretty horrifying (and a certain scene involving a little resurrected boy bothered me for a few weeks after the fact).
It currently holds an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and won Best Horror Feature at 2018's Fantastic Fest.
Some critics have likened the film to Insidious and The Conjuring, but it's a bit like if Weapons had gruesome resurrections and Aunt Gladys was a creepy, disembodied voice that came out of a sink drain.In addition to taking on a feature film, Hawley is pretty busy with Alien: Earth season 2 and a sixth season of Fargo
